Aventro vs Claude for due diligence

Claude is a chat; Aventro is the workspace your fund runs diligence in, where the company answers your requests on the record, every claim is matched to the official register by the company’s identifier, and every deal is read against your fund’s own versioned mandate. Its answers come from your fund’s own record and name the records they came from, the checks and the returns maths are code run the same way on every deal, and every decision stays with its reasons for the next one.

What Aventro and Claude each do
QuestionAventroClaude
A workspace, not a chatAventro onlyAventroOne record per company that your fund and the company both work on: the company answers your requests in its own workspace, your team records positions and the decision on it, and Aventro AI draws each action as a card you confirm.1,2,3ClaudeA chat assistant with Projects and project sharing. A deal record that the company answers your requests on is not listed.4
Claims checked against official registersAventro onlyAventroEach claim is checked against the official record it should appear in: company registers in Israel, the UK, the US, Norway and Finland, GLEIF, SEC EDGAR and patent offices, 35 published sources in all. A match counts only when something like a registered number ties it to the company; a name match is reported as a lead.5,6ClaudeResearch searches across your internal work context and the web, with citations. Checking a company against an official register by its identifier is not listed.7
After the decisionAventro onlyAventroAfter the decision, the record is compared every day with what the decision was made on (the figure then, the figure now), the public registers are checked again, and serious changes send a notice.8ClaudeNot listed on the pages cited.4,7
Answers from your fund’s own recordAventro goes furtherAventroAventro AI answers from your fund’s own record (the pipeline, each deal’s documents, checks, decisions and report), reads exactly what you can read, and names the records each answer came from. A fact the deal does not hold shows as missing.3,9,2ClaudeProjects, Memory, connectors and enterprise search are included. A fund record of deals, checks and decisions is not listed.4
The same checks on every dealAventro goes furtherAventroThe same rubric, weights and register checks run on every deal, the returns are computed with no model, and every Fund Fit names the Fund DNA version it was judged on.10,11,12ClaudeProjects are included. A fixed scoring rubric and weights applied to every deal are not listed.4
Your mandate on every dealAventro goes furtherAventroFund Fit reads every deal against your Fund DNA, criterion by criterion, met or missed. Exclusions are gates rather than deductions, and every score names the Fund DNA version it was judged on.10,12ClaudeProjects and project sharing are included. A mandate applied to each deal criterion by criterion, with versions, is not listed.4
Contradictions across deck, documents and callsAventro goes furtherAventroEvery document is read as it arrives. When the deck, the accounts and a call disagree on a figure, each reading is shown side by side with a question you can send the company, and a figure said on a call is compared too.1ClaudeCreating and editing files with code execution is included. Checking every document against the others as it arrives is not listed.4
Returns on your chequeAventro goes furtherAventroYour ownership, diluted round by round to exit, across five scenarios from failure to a home run, computed with no model call and with every base rate cited beside the number it produced.11ClaudeCode execution is included. A returns model with published base rates cited beside each number is not listed.4
The decision and its reasonsAventro goes furtherAventroEach partner records a position before seeing anyone else’s. A person records the decision with their reasons, freezing what it was made on, and Memory keeps it and checks the condition you set for looking again.2,13ClaudeMemory and project sharing are included. Partner positions recorded before seeing each other’s, and a decision frozen with what it was made on, are not listed.4
The memo in your own templateAventro goes furtherAventroYour committee’s own memo or screening form, PDF or Word, filled from what the deal holds. Every place it could not answer is named, never guessed.14,2ClaudeCreating and editing files is included. Filling your committee’s form from a deal record, with unanswerable blanks named, is not listed.4
Model calls and your dataAventro goes furtherAventroEvery AI model call runs with zero data retention at the provider, evidence is encrypted with AES-256-GCM under per-deal keys, and access is per deal and per person.15,16ClaudeNo model training on your content by default. Team and Enterprise keep chats so you can continue them, deleted ones are removed within 30 days, and Enterprise adds custom data retention controls.4,17
What it isAventroThe AI due diligence and deal flow workspace a venture fund makes its investment decisions in.18ClaudeA general AI assistant with Projects, Research, Memory, connectors, web search and enterprise search on its Team and Enterprise plans.4
PricingAventroOne annual contract for the whole team, quoted on seats and deal volume after a free demo on one live deal of yours.19,20ClaudeTeam: $20 a standard seat a month billed annually, $25 monthly; premium seats $100 or $125. Enterprise: $20 a seat a month plus usage at API rates, billed annually.4

Also only in Aventro

The smaller things a fund uses every day. None of them is listed on Claude’s pages cited4,7.

Actions drawn as cards in the chat

Ask Aventro AI to request a document, invite the company, move a stage, fill a field or record your position, and it draws a card you edit and press. Nothing happens until you do.3,9

Files dropped in the chat get filed

Drop a document into the conversation and Aventro AI proposes where it belongs on the record, and what it changes field by field, for you to accept.3,9

Calls turned into follow-ups

Add a call recording or transcript and it is read for who said what and when. A promise to send something becomes a request with its date, a figure said aloud is compared with the deck and the accounts, and tone is read from the words only, never voices or faces.21,22,1

Positions before the vote

Each partner records a position before seeing anyone else’s. The count is visible to everyone; the content is not, until you have answered.2

Forty decks, one ranked table

Drop up to forty decks and get them back ranked by Fund Fit, screened from the deck and the public registers before any founder knows you are looking.23

The fund’s own deal inbox

Forward a deck to your fund’s address and it lands as one opportunity, screened against your Fund DNA on arrival if you choose. The same deck sent twice attaches to the same company.24

What-If on the score

Model a hire, a raise or a resolved flag and the affected modules recompute with your weights, labelled as a projection.25

Health and fintech checks built in

A health company is checked against the FDA’s device records, EUDAMED and the trial registries for the route it states. A fintech is asked about its licences, its partner bank and credit losses.5,1

Assumptions you can watch

Each assumption a decision rested on shows whether it still holds, with what would prove it wrong.8,9

A reason to look again

Write the condition when you reject a deal. Memory checks a figure, an event or a date against what your fund holds now, and shows a judgment to you.13

Reports shared your way

Share a report by link with a password, an expiry date and the sections you choose, or invite named people. The PDF is rendered from the same page.26

Fund economics stay with the fund

The fund’s copy carries its fund size, its cheque and the exit that returns the fund. The company’s copy, and any shared copy, is built without them.26

One Work queue

Contradictions to settle, gaps to fill and requests waiting on the company, in one queue.1

The company’s whole team on one record

More than one person from the company can work on the record and answer your requests.27

When to pick Aventro

The longer list is the diligence. The shorter one is honest.

Pick Aventro when

  • You want one place the deal lives: the company answers your requests on the record, your team records its positions and the decision on it, and the chat acts on it with cards you confirm.1,2,3
  • A claim has to hold up at your investment committee, so it needs the official register record and the identifier that ties it to the company, not a web page or a matching name.5,28
  • You want answers from your own fund’s data, each naming the records it came from, with a missing fact shown as missing and the same checks run on every deal.3,2,10
  • You want your mandate applied to every deal the same way, criterion by criterion, with exclusions as gates and the Fund DNA version named on the score.10,12
  • Your data room holds a deck, management accounts and call transcripts that should agree, and you want to know the moment they don’t, with the question for the company already drafted.1
  • You want the returns on your own cheque done by code, with every base rate cited beside the number, not estimated by a model.11
  • You want each partner’s position recorded before anyone sees the others’, and the decision kept with its reasons on a record your fund can return to.2,13
  • You want each company watched against what you decided on after the money goes in: the figure then beside the figure now, and the registers checked again.8
  • You want to see it on a company you already know before any quote: bring one live deal to a free demo and see which claims get flagged that your team had not reached yet.20

When Claude is enough

  • You want a general assistant for reading, writing and research across the firm, from $20 a standard seat a month.4

Questions

Can’t we just use Claude for diligence?

For reading a data room and drafting, Claude is good. Diligence is a record, not a conversation: each claim matched to the official register by the company’s identifier, the company answering your requests on the deal, every deal read against your mandate, the numbers computed rather than written, and a decision your team keeps. Those are built into Aventro, and none of them is listed among Claude’s Team and Enterprise features.

What does Aventro do that Claude doesn’t list?

It checks each claim against the official register it should appear in and counts a match only when an identifier ties the record to the company. It keeps one record per company that the company answers on, reads every deal against your versioned Fund DNA, checks every document against the others as it arrives, computes returns with no model call, watches each company after the decision, and keeps your team’s positions and decision with their reasons.

Won’t an AI make things up?

Aventro answers from your fund’s own record and names the records each answer came from. A fact the deal does not hold shows as missing, never guessed; what counts as verified, the identity match and the returns are code; and nothing Aventro AI drafts is saved until a person confirms it.

Does Aventro use Claude?

No. Aventro’s model calls go through Vercel AI Gateway, with zero data retention on every call, to OpenAI’s models for reading and drafting, Microsoft’s for transcribing call recordings and TypeSafe’s for short typed readings. Every subprocessor is listed on the subprocessors page.

Isn’t Aventro just a ChatGPT wrapper?

No. Aventro uses OpenAI’s models, through Vercel AI Gateway with zero data retention, to read documents and draft, and Microsoft’s to transcribe call recordings. What counts as verified, which record matches the company, what the returns are, where documents disagree and who can see what are decided in code. The full answer has its own page.

What happens to our documents in Aventro?

Every model call runs with zero data retention, so the provider keeps nothing once it has answered. Documents are encrypted with AES-256-GCM under a key derived for their own deal, access is per deal and per person, and the subprocessor list is public.

Does Aventro make the investment decision?

No. Aventro screens, checks and drafts. A person on your team records the decision, with their own reasons, and Aventro does not give investment advice.
