Which tool verifies startup and founder claims?
Aventro checks each startup and founder claim against the official record it should appear in (company registers in Israel, the UK, the US, Norway and Finland, GLEIF, SEC EDGAR and patent offices) and labels a claim that rests on the founder’s word alone. Startup Due Dil and VentureScope also check deck claims, against publicly available data and external sources, so the question that separates claim checkers is which record each claim is checked against.

Tools that check founder claims
What each one checks a claim against. Facts about other tools come from their own pages, cited below.
Aventro
Official records: company registers in Israel, the UK, the US, Norway and Finland, GLEIF, SEC EDGAR and patent offices. A match counts only when something like a registered number ties it to the company.1,2

It shows what tied the record to this company
Companies share names. A registered number, an LEI or an SEC filing ties a record to one company; a matching name does not.
In Aventro: A name match alone is reported as not found, with the lead named.2
It ranks official records above the web
A register is where a company’s legal identity and filings are recorded. A web page is a signal to corroborate.
In Aventro: An official register outranks a commercial aggregator, which outranks the open web, and what a web page says against the record is shown as context.2
It shows the claims it could not check
The unchecked claims are the ones your questions to the founder should be about.
In Aventro: A claim that could not be checked is reported as unconfirmed, never dropped or marked green.2
It raises a mismatch instead of fixing it
When a record and a deck disagree, the disagreement is the finding.
In Aventro: When a source contradicts a claim, the mismatch becomes a flag rather than a quiet correction.2
Questions
Does a company with the same name count as verification?
No. Two companies can share a name. Aventro counts a match only when something ties the record to this company, such as its registered number, and reports a name match alone as a lead.
Which official records does Aventro check?
Company registers in Israel, the UK, the US, Norway and Finland, the global LEI index (GLEIF), SEC EDGAR and patent offices. Every source, and how much each one counts, is listed on the verification sources page.
What about health and life-sciences companies?
Aventro also reads the FDA’s device records, EUDAMED and the clinical trial registries against the route the company states. Not appearing there is normal for a software-only health product and is not held against the company.
Does Aventro make the investment decision?
No. Aventro screens, checks and drafts. A person on your team records the decision, with their own reasons, and Aventro does not give investment advice.
